When asked how he became an impersonator, Steve explains, "I was performing as San Antonio's basketball team personality 'Coyote Kid Stix' and some kids at the game started calling me Garth. I honestly didn't know why until a few weeks later when I performed at a local school. There happend to be an agent in the audience who said the students thought I was the real Garth Brooks!

As a businessman, Steve knew this was an opportunity he would like to explore so he learned to play the guitar. After a little practice, Steve made his first stage appearance as the legendary country superstar that brought country music to new heights.

Crowd reactions have made it easy for Steve to be successful, "I love to talk to the crowds and get them involved in my show. Many of my 'bits' are usually a result of a mishap that just seems to work so I keep doing it.

My entire water bottle routine started when the lid to my water bottle popped off and soaked my shirt. The audience laughed at me so I squirted them and they loved it! It's now a permanent fixture in the show."

Steve will freely admit that his job with Legends is the most fun he has ever had. Although he hopes to someday release his own music, he is having the time of his life and admires the superstar he portrys.

He knows he isn't Garth Brooks, but if he can entertain the crowds and give everyone a great show, he is satisfied. "After all, " Steve says, "entertaining is what performing is all about."
