Biography

In his exciting tribute to Liberace, Daryl Wagner showcases his bubbling personality and pizzazz. A protégé of Liberace, Daryl totally recreates the greatness of “Mr. Showmanship” in the award-winning tribute show Legends in Concert.

While working for the legend himself at Liberace’s restaurant in Las Vegas, Daryl got to see the mastery and showmanship first hand. Liberace befriended Daryl and gave him a chance to do impersonations during his show at the Hilton in the 1980’s. Daryl’s friends urged him to work on his act and that was the start of his tribute to the magical man of the keyboard.

Daryl began his show business career in his hometown Chicago when he was only five. He studied acting, piano and dancing and majored in Theatre at the University of Illinois. His studies paid off when he landed roles in Summer Stock and musicals throughout the Midwest, where he worked with such stars as Harv Presnell, Ken Berry, Dorothy Collins and Ann Southern. As a musical comedy actor, he appeared in “Kiss Me Kate,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Funny Girl” to name a few.

Daryl is a classical pianist who also studied arranging, composition and musical direction. His career as a musical conductor was born one evening when he was

doing “The Sound of Music” with Dorothy Collins. The musical conductor walked off the stage just at show time and Daryl was thrust into the pit, where he continued to work with stars like Bernadette Peters, Margaret Whiting and numerous others.

Legends audiences love the candelabra and sparkling costumes, and cheer in appreciation of Daryl’s sheer talent as he moves through Liberace favorites and a delightful homage to Gershwin. Learning from and knowing the master himself has had a profound effect on Daryl Wagner and he keeps the legacy of Liberace alive with a spectacular tribute unmatched anywhere.
