Art Vargas does his best to turn the clock back to the late 1950s and '60s with his recreation of Bobby Darin.

"It was a fun time," Vargas says about his favorite era, "The economy was good. The clothes were nifty, the cars were groovy and the movies were great!"

The main reason he loves the '50s and '60s, however, is the music- particularly the ballads and medium swing tunes synonymous with Bobby Darin.

"He was my always my favorite singer," continues Vargas. "When I was growing up in Detroit, I used to copy his style in the backyard talent shows around the neighborhood."

Audiences applaud his performances as he belts out Darin classics such as "Splish Splash," "Mack The Knife," "Dream Lover," 'Beyond The Sea," and "What's I Say." Vargas says he has great affection for that period of music. He's not just up there singing the oldies- his heart and soul are in it!

A major talent... his musical career began in Michigan supper clubs during the 1980's. He came to Las Vegas with the intention of portraying Bobby Darin for Legends In Concert. After many years working full time with the organization he has branched out to perform in all of the major lounges in Vegas with his own big band "Vargas".
