Tribute Artists, Live Bands, Dancers to Close Premier Travel Convention

LAS VEGAS "Legends in Concert" has been selected to be the final night entertainment for the International Pow Wow convention, the travel industry's premier international marketplace.

The private closing night "Beyond the Strip" party, Wednesday, June 4, between First and Third Streets at the Fremont Street Experience, will include two stages, 13 artists, live bands and dancers who will entertain for more than three hours. One stage will feature a different theme every hour including "dancing with divas," "moonwalk to Motown," "classic Vegas, baby" and "shake it like you mean it."  A second stage will showcase three top U.S. tribute bands emulating the Rolling Stones, U2 and Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band – one during each hour through the event.

"This is going to be the greatest collection of top tribute artists ever assembled at one event," said Brian Brigner, chief operating officer for "Legends" producer On Stage Entertainment. "We are thrilled and honored to create a 'TributePalooza' for the 5,500 buyers and journalists who attend the convention and we guarantee they'll literally be dancing in the streets."

"Legends" joins TIA, the Travel Industry Association – which produces the prestigious International Pow Wow – plus the Fremont Street Experience, Nevada Commission on Tourism and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in organizing this entertainment extravaganza. TIA is the national non-profit organization representing all components of the $700 billion U.S. travel industry.

The five-day International Pow Wow begins Saturday, May 31, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Buyers representing more than 70 countries will have 1,200 booths to visit at this year's 40th anniversary event.

On May 5, "Legends in Concert" at the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino celebrated its 25th anniversary and remains the longest running independently owned production show on the Las Vegas Strip. During the past 25 years, "Legends in Concert" has grown from one production in Las Vegas to year-round presentations in Branson, Mo.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Atlantic City, N.J. The show has traveled to 15 countries on five continents, and operates numerous fixed-based, touring, limited-term and private engagements of "Legends in Concert" throughout the world.
